Not all dampers can be repaired, as it depends on the type of mechanism and how it was damaged. We do from time to time have some dampers that have come from past customers’ houses that have no need for their damper any longer (such as installing an insert into the fireplace). We may have one that fits your needs. If not, there is a product called a lock-top or top-sealing damper that is available. Keep in mind, this sort of damper cannot be used with gas log sets.
